General information

Entry into Spain / VISA

EU citizens are able to travel freely with a passport or identity card.

If you’re not from an European Union country, you must have a valid passport to enter Spain. It should be valid for the whole of your stay.

You may also need a visa, depending on which country you’re from.

For citizens of more than 60 countries, there is the option of requesting the ETIAS travel authorization, a permit for tourism or business that is easy to manage online and that allows its holder to move freely through the countries of the Schengen Zone.

The ETIAS permit allows entry to Spain for a short period of time, as long as it does not exceed 90 days and within a validity period of 3 years from the date of processing.

If you are not part of the ETIAS countries or the reasons for your trip are different, you should check the requirements to apply for the Schengen visa or check different visas available to enter Spain.

Please be aware, you must know that due to the COVID-19 health crisis, it is mandatory to fill out a Health Control Form which can be accessed from the page https://spth.gob.es/more or by downloading the app on your mobile from the same page.

DO NOT TRAVEL if you have symptoms compatible with COVID-19: fever, cough, shortness of breath, with onset within the last 7 days, or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 7 days.

Check the Health & safety protocols that will be applied in this congress.

Emergency Calls

Main emergency number: 999
Ambulance, police, fire Service: 112 (this will work from any mobile phone)

Street crime is often opportunistic, especially during those dates with Bilbaos' festivities, so making yourself less of a target, moving with purpose and being aware of your surroundings will go a long way to keeping you safe. Plan your route in advance. Carry a charged mobile phone and some cash, and tell someone where you’re going. Keep your valuables including your mobile phone, other devices and jewellery, hidden. Try to avoid walking alone at night in places such as parks and side streets or any unfamiliar environment.
